What can I expect once I become a client?
As a client you are working privately with a certified coach. You receive a customized nutrition plan that is specifically tailored to your food preferences and lifestyle. It does not get better than having a coach. The built-in accountability that puts you in a position to win!
Do i have to exercise?
No, you do not have to exercise. We do encourage being active and when it comes to fitness, it is recommended for both the mental health and metabolic benefits.
How much weight can i lose in a week?
We have had people lose up to 20 pounds in their first week. We cannot and do not promise a certain amount of weight loss in a specific amount of time. Weight loss varies from person-to-person.
Why get a carb threshold report?
You quickly find out if your body primarily burns fat or carbs for fuel. This also includes being informed if you have a level of insulin resistance. Once you know this, you can then eat in a way that shifts your body to primarily burning fat. Plus, with the Carb Threshold Report you get a 30-minute consultation where a certified coach goes over the report with you. During this time, you will be provided a prescription as well as get answers to your questions.
What is insulin resistance?
Insulin resistance affects up to 50 percent of the adult population, and studies have demonstrated that 88 percent of the adult population is metabolically unfit. One of the primary reasons adults over the age of 40 struggle to lose weight is insulin resistance. It is a condition linked to weight gain, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, migraines, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), fatty liver, pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes and hyperinsulinemia to name a few. Insulin resistance is when the body’s cells don’t respond normally to the hormone insulin, which is largely responsible for regulating blood sugar. This said, it is important to note that you can have normal blood sugar and still have insulin resistance. The good news is that insulin resistance can be reversed.
Do you have programs for children?
We have programs for children that are experienced through their parent or guardian. In our first clinical trial with Aetna insurance, we demonstrated that coaching the parent/guardian resulted in positive outcomes for children of all ages. In our first 8-week trial with 1,000 participants, 81% of participants succeeded with the potential weight loss for men being 47 pounds, and 33 pounds for women. The median for men in this trial was 14 pounds, and 18 pounds for women, funded by Aetna Insurance.
