Why Detox? Part 5 of 5

Do you think there is a connection between what you eat and don’t eat and the appearance of your skin? Have you ever noticed that people who go from being sedentary to an active lifestyle not only feel better, but look younger? As your body benefits from the Detox Drop (which is a natural cleanse) so does your skin.

No one is exempt from coming in contact with toxins. It could be the water we drink, the food we eat, the prescription and non-prescription medications we take, and the air we breathe. There are a variety of sources for which you can come into contact with toxins. DID YOU KNOW that when you don’t consume an adequate amount of water you may fall short of bathing your cells and eliminating waste products, which can negatively affect your skin? As well, your digestive track may be in need of an adequate intake of fiber.

When it comes to maximizing both your internal health and the appearance of your skin, the Detox Drop can prove quite helpful.

You Are What You Eat
It’s true that good skin is a reflection of a healthy digestive system. Matter of fact, practically every skincare specialist will tell you that if you experience such disorders as acne, rosacea, and psoriasis that the right nutrition can bring about amazing recovery of your skin condition. Surprisingly, many people with a skin disorder also suffer from constipation, leaky gut, digestive conditions and an imbalance of “healthy” and “unhealthy” bacteria. One of the truest means for improving your skin’s appearance is to both consume the right foods and beverages as well as giving yourself a break from what you normally may be eating and drinking. (detox).

Sugar and Premature Aging
Sugar is not necessarily bad; however, there is a right and wrong way to consume it. When it comes to your skin the wrong way would be carbohydrates in excess and too much highly refined sugar at one time. Why? When you consume too much sugar at one time – the flood of sugar in your blood can result in a process known as glycation. When you have an abundance of sugar floating in your blood you heighten the likelihood of the sugar molecules damaging protein molecules by sticking to them. When this happens the collagen in your skin, cartilage and ligaments are likely to be damaged. The scientific name for this is called advanced glycation end-products, or AGEs.

Sweating and Skin
One of the easiest things we can do to help our skin is to exercise. That’s right! When you exercise you eliminate toxins through sweating. I refer to exercise as a natural way to rid your body of toxins. Please note however, that it is exercising that brings about this benefit, not necessarily sitting in a sauna. In short, you can sweat out toxins if the sauna is all natural. On the flip side, if you are sitting in a steam sauna or bath that uses chlorinated tap water you’re wasting your time. Your skin is likely to absorb this chlorine and that’s not a good thing when it comes to your skin and overall health.

Fiber Friendly
I mentioned the benefit to your intestinal health when you consume an adequate amount of fiber. But, what’s an adequate amount? The average North American is consuming around 14 grams of fiber daily. Well, according to the National Academy of Sciences Food and Nutrition Board, the recommended fiber intake for men aged 19-50 years is 38 grams, and for men over 50, 31 grams. For women aged 19-50 years is 25 grams, and for women over 50, 21 grams of fiber.

If you aren’t currently consuming an adequate amount of fiber daily, make it your goal to slowly boost your fiber intake. As you do this however, be sure to also increase your water consumption. The goal when it comes to water intake is to make sure your urine is clear.

Final Words
When you Detox Drop you are naturally contributing to all that I’ve shared with regard to improving the appearance of your skin. The Question of Oxygenated Water

I am preparing to run a marathon and I wanted to get your thoughts on oxygenated water. Do you recommend it for elite athletes?  — Carmen S., Email

It’s great that you and many others are looking to maximize your physical fitness, but it’s also important for you to know that there are many companies wanting to take advantage of your desire to excel in your workouts. If it’s not those energy drinks, it’s oxygenated water. Well, allow me this opportunity to save you time: Oxygenated water is a scam.

Many companies, such as Aqua Rush, Athletic Super Water and LifeO2 have claimed that their water is infused with seven to 40 times more oxygen as regular water. Basically, if you drink oxygenated water, you will help your muscles and improve your overall workouts and athletic performance.

When I first heard of oxygenated water I couldn’t help but think to myself that this is nonsense. The fact is this: We don’t absorb oxygen through the water we drink, but into our blood through our lungs, not our digestive tracts.

Lastly, consider this: Researchers at Duke University determined that a bottle of oxygenated water has less oxygen than what you get taking a single breath.

Why Detox? Part 4 of 5

DID YOU KNOW … it’s been estimated that 85% of Americans are infected with at least one form of parasite? Did you also know that the Environmental Protection Agency estimates that 500,000 chemicals are in use today, and over 5,000 new chemicals are introduced yearly?

Whether it’s parasites or the pollutants that we come in contact with, the Detox Drop is an easy and simple way to boost your immune system and rid your body of both parasites and toxins. Personally, my primary reason for doing the Detox Drop – either the 3 Day or 6 Day is to rid my body of parasites. If you aren’t familiar with what I am referring to, keep reading and turn the channel to the Animal Planet Network and watch the popular show “Monster’s Inside You.”

There are over l,000 species of parasites which can live in your body, however tests are available for approximately 40 to 50 types. This means physicians are only testing for about 5% of the parasites and missing 80% of those which are present. This brings the ability to clinically find parasites down to l %. Some of the most common parasites people come in contact with include tapeworms, pinworms, roundworms and hookworms to name a few.

The How of Parasites
Parasites can enter the body from a number of sources: the food we eat, the water we drink or bathe in, the soil we walk on, the pet you touch or kiss, or even the air we breathe. The symptoms of parasites can range from constipation to gas and bloating to chronic fatigue to name a few. No one is exempt from parasites. Fortunately, our immune system deals with these unwanted creatures, but every once in a while our body can benefit from a detox and cleanse.

How Long?
Parasites can live in our body for months and even years. In one study it was determined that a group of British soldiers who were prisoners from World War II – 30 years after the war – were still infected with a parasite called Stronglyloides. Contracted during the war, this parasite was crafty enough to remain alive and in the body after 30 years. What this can mean to the average person is that what you ate or came in contacted with 10 years ago could still be in your body.

Dr. Ross Anderson who has 20 years experience and has worked with over 20,000 patients says that parasites are one of the most undiagnosed health challenges in the U.S. I agree.

Parasite Hideouts
To most people’s surprise, health clubs are one of the most common places for you to come in contact with a parasite. If it’s not a health club it may be the lemon that’s served with your ice tea. Unfortunately, many studies and specials on television have demonstrated the fecal matter that accompanies the lemon that’s placed in your tea. Third on the list of common places where you are likely to come in contact with a parasite is when traveling. Whether it’s on the place or in the airport, the more people concentrated in a single location increases the likelihood of coming in contact with a parasite.

What You Can Do
There is no need to be in fear of these naturally occurring parasites. First and foremost, our immune system is quite amazing and deals with these foreigners quite well. However, there are things we can do to reduce our likelihood of experiences health hardships as a result of these parasites. You can wash your hands when you use the restroom. Enjoy your ice tea without the lemon when eating out. Wipe the equipment down with a sanitizer. Do everything you can to cut down on the potential of becoming a host for a parasite.

The one thing you can do to not only jump start your fitness, overcome a stall in weight loss and rid your body of parasites and pollutants is the Detox Drop. Make it a goal to perform the Detox Drop every quarter. That’s four times a year for at least 3 to 6 days each time.
